Who were the 6,000 people who would gather in the Theatre of Kassope? Certainly not just the inhabitants of the city. People from the entire domain must have travelled to join the political assemblies. It would not have been an arduous journey. Kassope was only a few hours away on foot from the other urban and semi-urban centers of the Kassopaean Koinon (League), so the travelers could have made the journey in a single day.
As for the dramatic performances, it is very likely that people travelled to the theatre from even farther away. Kassope was a wealthy city, with two important ports, a city with wide horizons, both literal and metaphoric. Coins discovered on the site belong to at least 40 different city-states and 17 tribes and nations, proving that the city had contacts with the entire eastern Mediterranean.
